From early childhood Greg played in the local Boys Brigade Pipe Band, progressing to a student at the Collage of Piping, Kelvinside, Glasgow. During his music career Greg was introduced to Musical Director, David Fisher and played at the Motherwell Civic Theatre on the Production of Singing is Our Forte.
Greg’s first overseas trip was to Windsor, Ontario, Canada were Greg joined up with the Clansman Pipe Band for charity event parades. Greg appeared alongside Steve McKenna (Vocalist) on the Scottish Soldier video for the Help for Heroes charity ran by Real Radio, Glasgow.
2019 took Greg to Western Australia where he joined up with the Fremantle Sailing Club Pipe Band and was granted the opportunity to play a Lament at the grave of the Late Ronald Belford (Bon Scott) in The Bon Scott Memorial Gardens, Fremantle Cemetery, WA.
The Late Bon Scott was Vocalist with the Australian rock band AC/DC who Bon joined after emigrating from Kirriemuir, Angus, Scotland.
Greg’s charity work extends to Prince & Princess of Wales, Glasgow, St Andrew’s Hospice and Nordoff Robbins who are a music therapy charity and Greg had stage appearances with rock bands, The Dan Reed Network from America, Saxon and The Quireboys.
Greg’s Piping background has also led him to run his my main business as a Fully Qualified Funeral Director & Embalmer.
